While doing so they were met by a band of warriors led by Chief Cameahwait who was Sacajawea's brother. The women quickly informed Cameahwait that the white men were friendly. WebChief Cameahwait was a Shoshoni Chief living in the Lemhi Valley of Idaho. When he saw that Lewis and Clark came in peace, he greeted them with a hug and the words "ah hi e". The meant "I am much pleased". Later, when Sacajawea met Chief Cameahwait, she saw that he was her long lost brother. This happy meeting brought much joy to the Shoshoni.
